Short Film ideas

These idea are little snippets that could not hold a narrative but pose an interesting idea. Probably more possible to do soon but again they are just ideas that may lead somewhere or not.

'Forget me not'

man-sitting-window_~x17645579.jpg

Man suffering from amnesia. Mostly filmed in empty room.
"why do we not remember things from before we were 2 years old? Because our brains take more time to develop memory banks. Does that mean if we stayed un born for an extra 2 years we would remember everything?
Elephants have 2 year pregnancies. Is that why they say elephants never forget?
I remember riding a train when I was 4, will I remember that tomorrow? Or will I forget it and not notice. Something I might need, gone.
Why do we forget? We walk into a room and forget why, where did the thought go? It cant still be somewhere in our heads otherwise we could find it again and It can't have left our heads other wise we wouldn't remember it later on. Is there a place where all lost memories go to either be returned or forgotten forever? No, because memories can't just pop in your head from outside otherwise anything could pop in. We'd find ourselves remeniscing about great uncle's who never existed to us.
Maybe, if the memory is still in here I can find it, I just have to look in the right places.
Do I even have a degree? I remember year 6, year 9, year 12 then...
Her face. That's all but there's more, like a shadow, hinting that something more real and accessable creating it. Teasing you of something you want more than anything but can see no evidence of other than the shadow. Other than the face."

Feature length ideas

These ideas are too long to fit into a 'short film' category, maybe one day I'll make them but for now they are just a view into what my mind comes up with. The ideas are separated by paragraphs. where there is a break, it is then the next idea.

'Dependance'

A family with an oldest child/brother that died at birth but they continue to believe in him. Either through ghost belief, denial or just imagination. He grows up with them, helping them through the death of the father. Twist for the audience of his non existance. One stops believing but can't.

'The 10,000th Case'

black-couple-kissing-~-AMR004.jpg

Set in the future when the government have decided that anti social behaviour is because of breading too close in the gene pool so they put into place, anti segrigation laws. For example, all public schools are all White boys and all black girls, or vice versa to encourage interacial breading, therefore cleaverer children. It works. The idea being the world (now under one government) will do this for a few generations then when everyone is the same the world will go back to the way it is today. Romeo and Juliet story, 2 black kids meet and fall in love, she gets pregnant, one set of parents care, the others don't, neither do the government, after a chase they are caught and are the last straw - the 1,000 case. The government move the ASL's to the ultimate level and start to segragate towns.

First post

Well we had our first session of creative story development today and I'm pretty sure I'm going to do a blog not a workbook. I like the idea of making little scribbles in a book but in practice, I'm better at blogging!

This module seems really interesting, lots of talking and idea-jumbling which is what my head does all the time so it should be good. Also, even though its all individual it's like the whole group is a group (if that makes sense) so we get feedback and I hope its really open. in other modules last year there was minimal feed back and it lead me to create something that no one liked.

I'll blog a bit more at another time but first I'm going to post some film ideas that I have gathered over the last few years, but I'm only going to post the ones that I think have potential.
